Golden Slumbers

GOLDEN
SLUMBERS

Golden Slumbers is a Lisbon born sister indie folk/pop duo comprised of Margarida Falcão (Vaarwell) and Catarina Falcão (Monday).  They are currently based between Lisbon and London. The duo started from their family home bedroom when Margarida was still in high school, after she felt inspired by a live concert of fellow sister trio, The Staves, and convinced Catarina to form a band with her.  Influenced by the likes of Simon and Garfunkel, Laura Marling and Fleetwood Mac, the duo make use of vocal harmonies and guitars in their songs and write about love, family dynamics and womanhood. In 2014, they released their first EP “I Found the Key”, and in 2016, their first LP “The New Messiah”. They found success in their home country, selling out headline shows, and have toured around Portugal and Spain, performing at various festivals such as NOS Alive, Vodafone Mexefest and EDP Vilar de Mouros. After a hiatus to work on side projects and a move to London, in late March 2022, Golden Slumbers returned with their sophomore album, “I Love You, Crystal”. They’ve released four singles off the album, “I Love You, Crystal” (title track) in late 2021 and “South America” in February of 2022, “Woman” and “Man of The Hour” in the month of its release.  The album gained support not only from major radio and media outlets in their home country, but from DSP editorial international playlists as well, including “EQUAL” “Borderless”, “New Music Friday Israel”, “New Music Friday Portugal” “New Music Friday Deutschland”, “Indie Lusitano” and “Chill Total” on Spotify. The duo is currently touring in their home country, playing headline shows and major festivals such as Super Bock Super Rock and Meo Kalorama.
