TWIN, the Valencian artist residing in Barcelona, presents “DUPLA,” her debut LP. This work represents a natural continuation of her debut EP (“TWIN,” 2021), but also signifies a revelation of her musical soul, venturing into the territory of pop while not forgetting the denser and darker textures and sounds, paying homage to club culture. This album is a song of duality, a reflection of the light and darkness coexisting within TWIN. It’s an emotional journey supported by beats and synthesizers.

The songs of “DUPLA” are true musical diaries that culminate three years of personal and artistic experiences, exploring themes such as anguish and anxiety, disillusionment, longing, love and its transformations, the different perspectives of loved ones, and impostor syndrome. The lyrics, much rawer and literal than in her previous works, bring a layer of authenticity and sincerity to each song.

In “DUPLA,” TWIN skillfully blends the different dimensions of electronic music to establish her own norms. With melody and voice as the central axis of the songs, synthesizers shape the dynamics, while beats set rhythms that sometimes lean towards the club and at other times seem to dictate the pace of heartbeats. A highly polished, elegant, and meticulous production, which TWIN has worked on together with Emili Bosch (b1n0) and Aaron Rux, reminiscent of Fred Again, Biig Piig, or James Blake. The perfect hybrid between dance, pop, and introspection.
