El crecimiento infinito

Everything grows but you. This is the verse that synthesises the lyrics of the presentation single, which gives the album title, and that could well define CATÁSTROFE CLUB’s motivation for creating their third LP (El crecimiento infinito – Hidden Track DIY, 2022).
If on their first album, Galletas (Molusco Discos, 2015), CATÁSTROFE CLUB interpellated the individual for his inaction and on their second album, Ejercicios de visión (Hidden Track DIY, 2018), they questioned it for its profound blindness, on El crecimiento infinito (Hidden Track DIY, 2022) they portray the drama of a model of life based on obsessive growth, full of uncertainty and governed by the ego.
This third work is the closing of a trilogy in which they continue to interpellate the individual, but in a somewhat calmer way, accepting the collapse and fatality of a social tragedy as something certain and inevitable that can only be contemplated. For this reason, CATÁSTROFE CLUB define themselves as portraitists of the global catastrophe. A catastrophe that, according to them, is the result of the obsession for unlimited growth. With only 8 tracks and 34 minutes long, it makes us vibrate between art-pop, industrial, kraut-rock, post-rock, post-punk and post-‘everything’ textures, immersing us in intimate atmospheres and also in danceable rhythms, while a bitter and uncomfortable lyric (more closer to spoken word than melody) reminds us that everything can explode at any moment, that we are miserable beings and that maybe we shouldn’t even exist.
